FAQ
I’m new to loose-leaf — what should I try first?
Tea styles differ a lot. The aim is to find your taste. Start with our Starter Picks — a small, curated set that highlights apparent differences in aroma, body, and finish so you can learn what you enjoy. You will find simple brewing notes on each product page — try side-by-side sessions and jot a few impressions to discover patterns you like.
Where do you source your teas?
From small farmers and micro-producers in China, Taiwan, and Japan — never mass factories. Each lot is traceable by harvest season or date, region, and processing details, which are listed on the product page. We select in small batches and refresh lots seasonally to keep profiles precise and transparent.
How do I brew the perfect cup of tea?
Temperature, leaf-to-water ratio, and time are the primary factors that significantly impact the process. Every tea page includes a precise recipe — grams, milliliters, °C, and seconds. For more depth, see our Brewing Guide. Use a scale for consistency, heat water freshly, and mind water quality — clean, low-odor water helps flavors stay clear.
Do you offer tea samples?
Every tea is available from 25 g — an ideal sample size for several focused sessions and fair side-by-side tasting. Start with two or three contrasting styles and keep notes — it speeds up the process of finding your personal favorites.
Are your teas organic?
Our teas come from small gardens — not mass monocultures treated with routine pesticides or herbicides. Many lots are from wild, old, or once-abandoned trees that receive no treatments at all. Where farmers manage plots, they rely on natural practices rather than synthetic chemicals. Some teas are considered organic in their country of origin, but we do not certify them as organic in the EU — there is no EU Organic logo on our packages. All teas are legally imported into the EU, pass the required safety checks for residues, and comply with EU regulations — ensuring high-quality, clean, and naturally produced products.
How much caffeine is in your teas?
It varies by style and brewing. Shorter steeps and cooler water usually extract less. If you are sensitive or it is late, explore our Low-Caffeine Tea collection — chosen for gentler evening drinking.
What makes your tea “specialty grade”?
Specialty for us means seasonal lots with full traceability to specific regions, estates, or farms, where the microclimate shapes their character. Producers select the finest tender leaves and buds, hand-picked and processed in small batches using traditional, artisanal techniques to preserve delicate aroma and layered flavor. Origin and craft are always disclosed.
How do I store tea to maintain its freshness?
Keep teas in their food-grade, light-proof zip pouches — in a cool, dark, dry place, away from odors. Reseal after each use and store in a cool, dark place, away from heat, light, and prolonged exposure to air. Do not refrigerate or freeze — instead, keep a working pouch and leave the rest sealed until needed.
